Head of FRWO visiting the flooded areas in southern Kerman on Wednesday, referred to the implementation of IWM projects in this region, and reiterated: "During the recent rains, out of 400 million cubic meters of flood, 200 million cubic meters were controlled by IWM measures, so that devastating floods were prevented."

Massoud Mansour noted: "In the recent rains, about 70 million cubic meters of harvested water were stored behind the dams, which can be used."
According to him, research shows that 70% of flood damage is reduced in places where the IWM project has been implemented.
Mansour emphasized: "The policy of developing IWM operations is adopted in flood prone areas like Kerman province."
In another part of his speech, Head of FRWO stated: "FRWO has allocated a budget of 1,700 billion RLs for the integrated watershed management basin of the south of Kerman province and by the end of the year, more than 100,000 hectares of the province will be subject to watershed management operations."
Referring to the allocated compensation budget for flood damage by the Government, he said: "FRWO's proposal is to spend part of this budget in the IWM sector and FRWO asks for the Government's contribution to FRWO in order to the implementation of IWM projects on the eve of the budget approval for the next year."
